Video: Bowerbirds perform sessions in Minneapolis

While we were in Minneapolis on our most recent tour, we played a show to 500 of our new best friends at the Cedar Cultural Center, went dancing late at a bar behind the venue, where the DJ was dancing almost more than we were, and then crashed on the floor of our friend Nate’s house, who was actually out of town, but his brother Justin let us in.  (Thanks, Nate!)
The next morning we had breakfast with Justin, and then met up with the great folks from North Shore Sessions to record a couple songs from the new album, in different arrangements from how we normally play them live, while walking around an empty building with great acoustics.
Follow this link to see videos of two songs we played at the Cedar, and also two songs from the empty building.

Repeal Ammendment One

It’s unfortunate that some asshole can just decide, “I’m going to write a piece of legislation that will keep gay people from getting married, or even having civil unions, and see if I can get it passed.  Because only closed-minded sad-ass people like myself should be allowed to marry the person that they love.”

How about we try to pass a law keeping social conservatives from mating, or even talking.  Or eating.

But seriously, it is just wrong to try to limit someone else’s happiness or well-being, and to deny them the basic rights given to straight people who want to get married or live together.  Let’s get this repealed.

Here’s a link to sign the petition.

We played last night at The Electric Ballroom with Dry the River, which was a lot of fun.  It reminded us of our times with them in North America.
On one of our last night with Dry the River, they stayed in an RV park in Texas, and we partied in and around the RV.  They were traveling in this super posh RV, while we tooled around in our van that kept breaking down, even though they were the support band.  Part of how they “supported” us was giving us a ride once when our van broke down in Charlottesville.
So anyway, we partied in the van, during which party this incredible braid happened, in the air betwixt the luxurious and silken hair of one Scott Miller and one Phil Moore.  And thus began the idea for our side project, French Braidz.

When we were in San Francisco, on tour, Beth’s brother John (with Phil in the first picture) had a birthday, and flew to California to see our show, with his wife Alexis (in the second picture).  We ate unbelievably delicious oysters and other delectable food items at this place across the street from the Independent before the show.

The whole crowd pitched in to sing John a happy birthday, which was pretty rad.
