Last night, we played the last show of our long and epic tour with The amazing and snuggly men of Megafaun (and their adorable Sara). It was a lot of fun, and it was made more wonderful because of all the hometown friends who came out to see our two bands.

We ate dinner before the show at Carrburritos, which, you might guess, is a burrito place in Carrboro. It is delicious. We ran into a lot of friends there, including this contingency from Raleigh.

The show began with Megafaun showing a rad stop-motion film/music video that Tim Litvynenko made for them, which transitioned seamlessly into their first song. Megafaun’s performance was phenomenal, despite some technical difficulties like broken strings.

Then Bowerbirds played, and it was honestly pretty moving for us to be able to play for so many friends and hometown folks who were giving us back a lot of positivity. Good vibes all around.

The show ended with a cover of “Hold Hands and Fight” by our friends and the very inspirational band the Rosebuds. Kelly Crisp, lady Rosebud, told us afterwards that we did OK.

It was a good night. A million thanks to Megafaun, for touring with us and making this summer amazing. And also thank you friends who came out to support us last night at the ArtsCenter. Besos.

Phil and Beth are writing this from an airplane. We are on our way to spend a week and a half in Minnesota, on Ten Mile Lake, where we will be mostly just relaxing.
